The purpose of this message is to let you know that Oklahoma Baptist University students will be offering free marketing assistance to area organizations again in the Fall. Daryl D. Green serves as the Dickinson Chair/Associate Professor at Oklahoma Baptist University in the Dickinson College of Business. In 2016, he retired from the federal government as a senior engineering manager to make a difference.
Dr. Green would like to thank Tim Burg, Stacy Moore, Lori Hagans, Jeff Madison, and Dr. Cragin for assisting with the identification of organizations in the area.
For several years, Daryl D. Green has worked with local organizations where students provide business consulting during the semester.
To date, they have achieved results for their clients. Their business partners have been diverse (i.e. non-profits, new start-ups, African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans).
For the marketing majors, Daryl D. Green is piloting a program in the class called a ‘micro internship,’ where students work with an organization over 6-10 weeks, giving students practical experience.
Here’s a micro internship program overview:
Despite the challenges of the pandemic last semester, the students were able to excel in their micro internships. Below is an overview of these successful projects:
Senior Alex Annis -her client, Dr. George Taylor (Tulsa, OK).
Team of Jarrett Ellis and Dishon Lowery – their client, the Oklahoma Black Entrepreneurs (Oklahoma City, OK).
Team of Jacob Lott and Spencer Price – their client, the Fullers on Mission (Dallas, TX).
Team of Olivianna Calmes, Sean English, and Morgan Randol -their client, Safe Events for Families (Shawnee, OK).
Team of Brooke Harden and Rebekah White – their client, The Healthy Hive (Shawnee, OK).
Team of Julianna Horner, Alex Annis, and Emily Reynolds -their client, The Uncanny Comic Expo (Shawnee, OK).
Team of Braden Davis, Tim Duncan, and Spencer Price -their client, Neighboring 101 (Shawnee, OK).
In the Fall, Daryl D. Green will expand the micro internship to more of his business classes.
With the current economic crisis, today’s organizations need to understand how to navigate the digital economy. These OBU students can help!
In the Fall, Daryl D. Green will have ten slots available for organizations, on a first-come, first-served basis. Daryl D. Green is also available to assist any organization with operational challenges, including strategic planning, and social media marketing.
If you are interested in these student micro internships or have any questions, please contact Daryl D. Green at firstname.lastname@example.org or (865) 719-7239.
