The Opportunity
Shawnee Forward Inc, the lead economic development organization for the Shawnee area has begun the search for an individual to lead our organization. The new executive director will work with a diverse and engaged Board of Directors to drive economic health and quality of life in our community.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with a preference given to an applicable Master’s degree. There should be documented experience in managing the day-to-day operations of an organization, and direct experience in community economic development activities. The candidate must also have a strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze the financial health of the organization. A working knowledge of Shawnee and the surrounding communities is a plus.

We are looking for a person that exhibits a professional image and is an excellent communicator. They will be able to build relationships necessary to advance the economic health of the community on a local, regional and state level. They are a strategic thinker that is able to guide the Board through effective planning processes, and develop tactical plans to achieve the organizational goals.
