Connecting Students to Careers in Our Community
Pathways to Professions is a combined effort of many community partners in the Pottawatomie County region that are interested in creating a pipeline of talent for our future vitality. The program is a 12-week comprehensive exposure to career opportunities in our own community.
Through progressive exploration beginning in elementary school and continuing through their high school years, students will learn about career paths that exist in our community directly from the businesses themselves. Pathways to Professions not only brings the businesses right into the classroom but can also bring the students to the businesses.

Leadership Shawnee
Leadership Shawnee is a leadership development program designed to provide community leaders with a deeper understanding of the critical issues affecting the greater Shawnee area. The program is based on the belief that knowledge of the community and accompanying areas of need are the prime motivators of leadership.

Gordon Cooper Technology Center
Gordon Cooper Technology Center is a premier public career and technology education center offering 23 full-time programs. Serving approximately 800-1,000 high school and adult students annually, the center is dedicated to providing hands-on, practical training that prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce. Beyond its full-time programs, Gordon Cooper Technology Center also reaches thousands more individuals each year through short-term classes and customized training, catering to the diverse needs of the community and local industries. With a focus on innovation and skill development, the center plays a crucial role in enhancing career opportunities and supporting economic growth in the region.
Oklahoma Baptist University
Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) is a distinguished Christian liberal arts university that offers over 80 areas of study, providing a robust and diverse academic environment.
